landscape: oil

From remote wilderness to major metropolitan, the landscape is in constant evolution. There is an underlying battle between what exists & what attempts to replace what exists. This occurs in many arenas: in the micro & the macro, in what is natural & what is cultural, & between the natural & cultural. Even in the most “natural” landscapes, seemingly untouched by human intervention, one can find evidence of human existence. The landscape, just as the individual, is in a constant state of becoming.
